PA PowerShopper was created by industry veterans with vast Pennsylvania utility experience. We saw that the promise of electric competition to customers hadn't been fully realized, and we knew we could help with an innovative approach and use of advanced technology.
We at PA PowerShopper believe that electric generation competition in Pennsylvania is good for consumers. There are well over a hundred electric suppliers all competing for you as a customer. There is robust competition between suppliers to generate electricity at the least cost possible. But like any other business, they also try to maximize how much they get paid. How the suppliers get paid is where things get complicated, and where we add value to our members.
Consumers receive competing offers from suppliers that can sometimes be difficult to understand and evaluate. It's not uncommon for offers to come with introductory prices that automatically spike after a few months, leading to huge increases in electric bills. We've seen practices that take advantage of consumers, and we're built to stop those practices and deliver the full promise of electric competition - cheaper electricity for customers.

PA PowerShopper believes that most people don't want the hassle of shopping for a better price of electricity. There are contracts, agreement deadlines, thousands of offers to chose from - lots of things to make the process a pain and lots of things that if not done consistently that will lead to bad outcomes. We believe our service won't be successful unless we do all of that hard work without our members having to notice it. For an low monthly fee, we'll handle everything. Our members can just sit back and get great savings.

The idea for PA PowerShopper was created because we saw family members falling into a common trap of electric shopping. They were promised a lower rate on electricity from a supplier that after a short time turned into a very high rate. We knew that we could build a team and a process that would ensure our members are paying the best prices possible - month over month. We're passionate about keeping our members' electric bills as low as possible.

We care deeply about the security of your personal information, and we have several protections in place to ensure member information always remains secure. When you interact with the PA PowerShopper website, all of that information in encrypted and unable to be read by others. All of the information we gather to switch suppliers is also transferred in this same safe and secure manner. Your credit card information and all credit card transactions take place in a secure PCI Level 1 certified environment.
